Good morning! And congratulations to all for making it to the end of our first week back on site!
This week, Aitken Creek Good News has some student and staff reflections about returning to school and remote learning. And even more exciting – we filmed on site!
Please enjoy Episode 1 of ACGN 🙂
Our School Captains have been busy these school holidays and created a special holiday episode of ACGN. Scripted and filmed entirely by the School Captains during their holidays – even the editing was taken over by them!
In this episode, our Captains share what they have been up to these holidays now restrictions are slowly being lifted and the weather is getting warmer.
What have you been up to these holidays? Share with us on our blog post or school Facebook page!
See you soon for Term 4!
ACGN ends Term 3 with our 9th episode!
We include a fun video from the teachers, updates on some end of term class fun and reminders of how to stay Covid-safe over the school holidays.
Stay safe and enjoy a restful holiday break!
See you in Term 4!
Episode 7 is here!
In this episode we welcome a Rookie Reporter to ACGN, share about the Prep’s zoo excursion (yes – they went to the zoo!) and give you a sneak peek at some excitement coming up from our Specialist teachers. We hope this brings a smile to your face!
Please watch, share and enjoy!
Hello everyone 🙂
For the past few weeks 1B has been learning and exploring procedural texts. We have investigated the different features of a procedure such as, a title, goal, list of materials and numbered steps. We have learnt about bossy verbs and adverbs and how they instruct the reader how to do something. In Week 7 we have been super busy constructing our very own procedures on delicious lunches that we have made at home.
On Monday we started by taking pictures of ourselves completing each step while we made our lunches. On Tuesday we started to write the title, goal and list of materials we needed. On Thursday we wrote the steps that we took to make our lunch, making sure we included bossy verbs and adverbs. Finally, on Friday we published our writing using Picollage or Book Creator.
We hope you enjoy reading and maybe even making our procedures!
We hope everyone is keeping and staying at home. We hope you enjoyed reading our procedures and we can’t wait to share with you what we learn next!
Episode 6 shares some feedback we have received from students and teachers – we hope you feel that ACGN brightens your day as well! If it does, let us know by emailing Ms Huntly or giving your teacher a comment or video to pass onto the ACGN team. These will continue to be shared in other episodes!
We also showcase our Student Leaders who want to share some good spirits by declaring “Everything Is Awesome” and some Year 4 teachers and ES who demonstrate some very complicated dance steps!
Thanks for watching! And as always, stay safe and stay positive!
